General Information - an overview of the Tobacco Use Prevention Grant
The Montana Department of of Public Health and Human Services is providing funds for grants to school districts for school-based tobacco use prevention and education. The grants are to expand and strengthen the capacity of local education agencies to implement effective, age-appropriate tobacco use prevention education and to adopt and enforce tobacco-free policies. The Office of Public Instruction is designated as the agency to pass these funds through to schools and to oversee the school-based programming and policy efforts related to the use of the funds. The funds are from the settlement dollars the state of Montana has received.
