Workshop 1810

TITLE:

Sketchnotes and Google Classroom: Add Some Art to your Lessons

DESCRIPTION:

Instead of notetaking, let’s get sketching instead! And let’s learn about Google Classroom at the same time.  This class will explore the variety of ways to add art to daily lessons, including into the notetaking process with graphic organizers, diagrams, drawings and other ways to bring notes into the Sketchnote craze!  The class shows how students can enhance their notetaking skills by using graphic organizers, doodles, arrows, scribbles, etc. Who knew taking notes could be this much fun—and educational at the same time? Not just for art teachers; no artistic talent needed. Teachers will learn about Sketchnotes while being a student in Google Classroom. Then on Day Two, participants will set up their own classroom utilizing art.  In addition, we will see how adding a bit of art to handouts and presentations can engage audience and capture attention. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words. If you doodled in class, you will love this course. The class will also emphasize safety in an online environment and how teachers can educate their students on how to avoid online pitfalls.
