TITLE:
Guided Math: A Framework to Support Student Learning
DESCRIPTION:
Guided Math is a framework for Math instruction that supports ALL students in their mathematical development and understanding. It allows any program to be incorporated through best mathematical practices. During this session, time will be spent with creating a numeracy rich environment. Instruction regarding warm ups, whole group lesson delivery, small group instruction, conferencing, assessing, interventions and extensions will be delivered. Several different structures will be shared that have been successful. Not only can you reach the learning outcomes expected for your diverse students in your classroom, you can also develop those mathematical habits of mind like perseverance, constructing viable arguments, etc.

CREDIT:
15 OPI renewal units OR 1 graduate credit through Montana State University-Northern. MSU-N will charge $150.00 for this credit which is paid at the workshop.
EXPENSES:
Participants will be responsible for travel, lodging, and meals.
REGISTRATION POLICY:
$40.00 per participant if GTCC member / $100.00 per participant if not a GTCC member.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Participants need to bring their Math program (if using one) and a copy of Montana’s Math Content Standards (available from OPI’s website).
