Workshop 1822

TITLE:

Differentiating Math for K-8

DESCRIPTION:

This workshop will use math manipulatives as well as found objects to engage teachers in math.  We will differentiate lessons to meet classroom learning needs, and we will focus on geometry in K-8, how to use textbooks, online resources, manipulatives, vocabulary and meeting the standards.  Teachers will be introduced to using Problem of the Month lessons from NCTM.  Lessons will be cross curricular, utilizing exit tickets and strategies to encourage participants to enjoy teaching math and create that atmosphere in their classrooms.  Lesson plan templates, manipulatives to take away, using the standards as well as ideas that can be implemented with ease in the classroom will be provided.
