TITLE:
Introduction to Small Gas Engines
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed for participants that have zero or limited experience with small gas engines (SGE). In this course, participants will learn about four-stroke engines, their operation and component parts. Additionally, best practices in disassembly and assembly will be employed using specialty and common SGE tools. Participants will be provided with their own engine (or groups of two) to disassemble and then reassemble, until the engine is operationally sound. The engine will operate properly by the end of the class. Using specialty tools to troubleshoot may be necessary to achieve this goal. Participants can expect to work safely in a shop environment.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Wear safety glasses (provided), closed-toed shoes, and older clothing due to possible exposure to oil, grease, and gasoline. Participants will handle sharp, oily parts and tools.
