TITLE:

Art in the Great Outdoors

COURSE DESCRIPTION: 

This class will start the foundation for a mindful, relaxing art practice in the outdoors. We will learn basic watercolor and drawing techniques to quickly capture the landscapes around us and focus on cultivating observation skills. The instruction is geared more towards beginners, but advanced students are welcome to come and develop their work. We will start the day with group instruction and then break out for independent exploration and creation. Our day will culminate back as a group to share and discuss our creations.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:

This class will be taught outside, so please plan for our changing weather!  We will be in bear country so BEAR SPRAY is required. Also, plan for your own water and food needs, plus whatever items will keep you comfortable. During the independent practice, you will be walking as much as your comfort level. Make sure to wear comfortable clothing and good walking shoes. 

Other recommendations include: camp chair, hat, sunscreen, blanket, jacket, and bug spray. We will meet at the Buckhorn Bar in Augusta and carpool from there to our locations.

OPI Renewal Units -OR- 1 semester credit Continuing Education Credits (MSU-Northern) will be available ($150 - paid at the workshop).

EXPENSES:

Participants will be responsible for travel, lodging, and meals.
