August 2026 New Teacher Institute & GTCC Orientation
TARGET AUDIENCE: K–12 Early-Career Educators, Educators New to GTCC
This hands-on, high-energy workshop is designed to help new teachers start the school year with confidence, clarity, and excitement. Participants will kick off the day with an interactive scavenger hunt to explore the GTCC curriculum, key resources and webpages, IEFA integration, pre-assessments and state testing, and strategies for monitoring student progress.
Throughout the workshop, teachers will actively develop and refine essential classroom materials, including their course syllabi, first week of lesson plans, and classroom routines, rules, and procedures. By the end of the session, participants will leave with practical tools, ready-to-use plans, and a strong foundation for a successful and engaging school year.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Please bring a wireless internet-capable laptop or device.
TIME: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (1 hour lunch break; lunch included.)
Free for GTCC members. Lunch is provided.
