Good afternoon, everyone,
My name is Kristi Calvery, and I’m honored to be stepping into the role of Golden Triangle Curriculum Director as of July 1st. Over the past two weeks, I have had the pleasure of attending several summer institute classes and visiting with many dedicated educators. I’ve heard such positive feedback from teachers who have attended sessions in June and the first weeks of July. It’s clear we have a strong, engaged community of educators and administrators who are eager to grow and collaborate.
Currently, I’m focused on building the GTCC calendar of events for the 2025-2026 school year. Brianna Hansen has been so gracious in helping me plan for the events you all look forward to, and to also help me identify other areas I can offer support to our schools. I plan to share the finalized calendar by August 1st, so our GTCC members can plan ahead for key dates, including new teacher training, curriculum revision meetings, professional development opportunities, book discussions, and multiple Professional Learning Community (PLC) days. These PLCs will be tailored for specialized groups, including: technology staff, counselors, AP/honors teachers, and those involved with student publications such as yearbook, newspaper, and broadcast.
As a reminder this fall we will be finishing revision work for Library Media, Health Enhancement, and Science. In the spring of 2026, we will start revisions for Technology-Media and Music Arts. I’m truly excited for the year ahead and look forward to supporting the amazing work happening across the state and Golden Triangle Cooperative schools.
Thank you to all the summer institute teachers and participants! In the weeks to come, I look forward to meeting more teachers and administration and finding ways I can support and encourage our member schools.
